Palermo monuments

Monuments and places of interest in Palermo and environs: opening times and admission fees

There are an incredible number of interesting monuments in Palermo and in its environs. You can actually spend a whole week in this province of Sicily and still only have time to see the most important sites which include churches, museums, palaces, theaters and gardens.

On this page, we have listed what we consider to be among the most important of these Palermitan monuments. Next to each one, you will find the corresponding admission fee and time table with opening hours. We cannot guarantee that this information is always precise as some of these monuments periodically change the visiting hours and they bring up to date the admission fees, and this could happen without any notice. Most places follow a Sunday time schedule on holidays.

As for the admission fees, some of these monuments are under the patronage of the Sicilian Cultural Ministry (the Norman Palace is not under this patronage). This is often the case with monuments that have a 6 Euro admission fee. Here you can usually get in free of charge if you are a citizen of the European Union under the age of 18 or over 65, and you can get a discount between the age of 18 and 25 (you must have a document which demonstrates the above information).
Composite tickets for monuments under this patronage are sometimes available. These cost 12 Euros, and they come in packets that allow you to visit 4 monuments within a two-day limit.
